TAYLOR SWIFT AND TRAVIS KELCE ARE ENGAGED! Do we have your attention? Okay, great. Moving on! (It was funny, right? Don’t be mad.)

The summer of 2025 has been busy for the insurance industry. As we enter the final stretch of Q3, we’re reflecting on some significant events of the last few months, including some team highlights, thought leadership, and a new endorsement to help businesses deploy AI technology with confidence.

This quarter has reinforced our commitment to staying ahead of emerging threats and opportunities. Our partnerships with leading industry organizations have also deepened our understanding of the evolving cybersecurity landscape facing businesses nationwide.

In this month’s newsletter, we’ll share some key developments from our summer initiatives and explore how the broader risk landscape continues to evolve across technology and legal sectors.

Let’s get into it.

  • What’s going on?
  • AI Coverage Evolution: Embroker’s Tech E&O Endorsement for AI
  • Embroker Team Highlights: Customer Success & AI Career Insights
  • Cybersecurity Insights for Attorneys: Law Firm Risk Webinar

What’s going on?

Anthropic’s surprise settlement adds new wrinkle in AI copyright war — Reuters | The AI industry faces continued uncertainty as copyright litigation evolves, highlighting the importance of comprehensive intellectual property and professional liability coverage for companies developing or deploying AI technologies.

Recognize the women leading change in insurance — Insurance Business America | Business Insurance America’s annual Insurance Awards spotlight female leaders driving innovation across the insurance sector, reflecting the diverse expertise and perspectives shaping modern risk management and coverage solutions.

Multifactor Authentication not enough to protect court filing systems from future hacks — Law.com | Cybersecurity vulnerabilities in legal technology infrastructure underscore the critical need for robust cyber insurance coverage and comprehensive security protocols, particularly as law firms increasingly rely on digital systems for confidential client communications and case management.

AI Coverage Revolution: Embroker’s Technology E&O AI Endorsement

The artificial intelligence revolution (yes, we can call it that at this point) has created risks that most insurance coverages weren’t designed to handle; kind of like trying to insure a Ford Bronco with a horse-and-buggy policy. This summer, we launched our AI Endorsement for Technology E&O policies, built by technologists who actually understand how AI works (revolutionary concept, we know).

Unlike standard policies that either exclude AI risks or pretend they don’t exist, our endorsement tackles the real exposures: algorithmic discrimination claims, AI product liability, and intellectual property issues tied to AI outputs, and more.

Our definition of artificial intelligence focuses on what AI does rather than getting bogged down in technical jargon that’ll be outdated by next quarter. This means your coverage evolves with emerging technologies without requiring a complete policy rewrite every time someone invents a new type of neural network.

The coverage explicitly addresses AI-driven discrimination claims, recognizing that biased algorithms can create serious regulatory and reputational headaches. For tech companies building, integrating, or leveraging AI systems, this coverage can give you the confidence to innovate without constantly looking over your shoulder.

Embroker Team Member Highlights: Customer Success & AI Career Growth

This Summer, we had the privilege of seeing two Embroker team members highlighted by BuiltIn, the online community for tech and startup careers.

Ashton Gensheimer (Sr. Client Executive) and Jeff Murray (Technical Product Manger) were both tapped to speak to their experience in their respective careers. Ashton contributed to an article from BuiltIn on breaking into a career in customer success, what she thinks makes a great team, and continually learning in fast-paced environments. Jeff spoke to his experience finding his passion for AI, and being supported in building a role for himself in a quickly-evolving space.

These articles are both a testament to the immense talent of the Embroker team and the career developments that we foster. As our industry evolves, new roles and opportunities become vital to operations. We’re incredibly proud to show off our team’s expertise, versatility, and growth mindset.

Check out both articles below, and get insights from the other experts interviewed for these important topics.

Cyber Insights for Attorneys: Law Firm Risk Webinar

Law firms handle some of the most sensitive data imaginable while often operating with small cybersecurity budgets. This summer, our Head of Claims, Corrie Hurm, partnered with BridgeTower MediaLawyers Weekly, and Integris to tackle this challenge head-on through a comprehensive webinar.

The event brought together expertise from multiple angles: legal industry operations, technical cybersecurity insights, and real-world claims experience. Because when it comes to cyber threats, you need people who understand both how attacks happen and how they actually play out in the aftermath.

Key insights from the series confirmed what many suspected: traditional security measures like multi-factor authentication are necessary but not sufficient. Law firms face increasingly sophisticated attacks that exploit their role as treasure troves of client information and their connections to high-value corporate networks.

The session covered practical strategies beyond basic security protocols, including secure client communication systems and proper data handling procedures. And importantly, the webinar emphasized how comprehensive cyber insurance functions as a strategic enabler rather than just a defensive measure, allowing firms to pursue innovation with confidence.
