This wrap-up of international People Moves details two recent appointments at Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions and insurance broker Miller, in Minneapolis and London, respectively.

A summary of these new hires follows here.

Insurance broker Aon plc announced that Eric Schwebach has been named senior managing director of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions.

Focusing on the management of major clients as well as the generation of new business, Schwebach will report to Trevor Dorr, executive managing director of Reinsurance Solutions.

Based in Minneapolis, he joins from reinsurance intermediary Guy Carpenter, where he was most recently a senior vice president and member of the company’s North American P&C treaty broking unit. While at Carpenter, Schwebach served as an account executive and senior broker for several high-profile global and nationwide insurance carriers with a focus on property lines of business.

Prior to Guy Carpenter, the 15-year industry veteran was part of Aon Benfield’s Client Development and Production teams, based in Chicago. He began his reinsurance career at Benfield in 2006.

Miller has hired Farris Mellor to join its Credit and Political Risks Insurance (CPRI) team in London.

Having worked for some of the world’s largest financial services companies, Mellor brings with him excellent knowledge of the banking sector and the insurance solutions available for financial institutions, said the London-based broker in a statement.

At Miller, Mellor will be helping financial institution clients access tailored, effective CPRI solutions, supporting their growth goals and providing essential protection for when challenges present themselves.

While a director at Mizuho Bank, Mellor was responsible for loans sales and unfunded risk distribution, providing him with a unique insight into the most effective ways in which banks can adopt CPRI solutions – insight that Miller’s clients will now be able to benefit from.

“Farris’ in-depth knowledge of the needs of banking clients makes him an exciting addition to the team at Miller. Clients will benefit from his understanding of how CPRI solutions can be made to work for them and how banks can adopt best practice,” commented Ben Gibbons, head of CPRI (London) at Miller.

“Farris has already demonstrated his ability to transfer the skills and knowledge gained whilst working in banking to the insurance sector, and his hiring forms part of our team’s commitment to providing financial institution clients with best in class service,” Gibbons added.
